About Edwards Arts

The Artists

Edwards Arts is operated by a mother/daughter team that have decades of stained glass creation experience.

The Story

Glass has always been about what light does when it passes through something beautiful.

Edwards Arts began the way most things worth doing begin — with curiosity and a willingness to learn something slow. Stained glass is not a craft that rewards impatience. Every piece is cut by hand, wrapped in copper foil, and soldered one section at a time. There are no shortcuts.

Working in the Tiffany copper foil tradition, each piece starts as raw material — sheets of colored glass, a pattern, a pair of glass cutters — and becomes something that only fully reveals itself when held up to the light.

The work ranges from small suncatchers and garden stakes to large window panels and custom commissions. Animals, florals, geometric patterns, portraits of beloved pets — if it can be imagined in glass, it can be made.

The Philosophy

"Each piece begins as raw glass, copper foil and solder — and becomes something that breathes with the light around it."

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. The glass itself varies — in texture, in how it catches light, in the subtle variations within a single sheet. That unpredictability is part of what makes the work alive. A panel that looks one way in morning light will look entirely different at dusk.

The Craft

How a piece comes together

01

Design

Every piece starts with a pattern — drawn by hand or adapted from a reference. For commissions, this is where the conversation begins: your vision, your space, your light.

02

Cut & Foil

Each piece of glass is scored and broken by hand, then wrapped in copper foil — a thin adhesive tape that will hold the solder. This is the most time-consuming part of the process.

03

Solder & Finish

The foiled pieces are assembled and soldered together, one joint at a time. The solder lines become part of the design — the veins that hold the light in place.
